Why Mocca uses English
Q: Is there a reason why Mocca uses English instead of Indonesian in all songs?
A: As musicians we treat music as art. In art, some choose to paint in oil, some prefer charcoal. We prefer to write our songs in English because it is what appeals to us, and if people like what we sing then it is good. We try not to make music that sells to the masses but does not fit with our concept. Plus, English is the most popular language in the world, so why not spread the words in the language that most people could understand the story we tell?
Indra’s Snare Drum
Q: Why does Indra only use one snare drum sometimes (instead of a full drum set)?
A: Indra is probably the most versatile drummer in Indonesia and he can show you that with only one snare drum you can actually make up to seven different tones. Not only do you get different sound just from using a brush depending on where you hit it or how hard you hit it.
Arina’s Fitness
Q: Arina seems very fit to sing and play flute for a long duration. How does she do that?
A: Arina does take care of herself very well. She does not smoke nor does she eat meat. She is a vegetarian and exercises regularly. Indra is a different, though. He could smoke a cigarette while playing on his drums for a full set without looking tired.
Riko and his guitar
Q: How does Riko choose his guitar?
A: Riko treats his guitars like his mistresses. He takes care of them like no one else would. His collection of old and vintage guitars would probably not even fit in your car trunk. The red one he is using now is very solid made out of ebony and perfect for bright strumming.
We Want Toma!!!
Q: Is Toma married?
A: Yes, he is happily married. So is Indra. (Sorry, ladies).
